Mac version's free, iPhone version costs $2, and yes, they sync. I'm pretty well covered with Appigo's Todo on my iPhone, and I have Things on my Mac for more intensive projects, but this may be of interest if you need a simple productivity/to-do system that doesn't break the bank.
